A HEART OF A CLOWN

Who will know a heart of a clown? They paint their face with happiness, widest smile, starry eyes, red bubble nose, and joyful mimic. But look into their eyes, they are saying so much more, juggling the feeling of joy and fight, tired but still have a long day entertainment agenda to go. I always like the painter who portrays the face of a clown, especially who can capture two mimics in one face, two realities in one soul.
Like what Dede Eri Supria did here. His work, “Clown Series no.1”, oil on canvas, dimension: 120x100 cm, is showing a series of sentiment. It has jealousy, avoidance, obligation, and doo doo daa daa work to do soon. We can empathize the situation through his gesture, his almost gives up laziness, which covered by his joie de vivre costume. This painting and some others are exhibited in Museum Akili, Jakarta Barat. Contact: contact@arkgalerie.com.
